Nearly four years ago we were delighted to open our Fair Trade store in downtown, Salina. We believe every big town should have a Fair Trade store and it has been our pleasure to get to be Salina's store!
We've given it all we have, friends, but I'm sorry to say that I haven't been able to figure out how to sustain our store. We love being an outlet for Fair Trade artisans and farmers in Salina, our customer-friends and all of our neighbors! We are so sad to have to close.
Downtown Salina has beautiful buildings, good restaurants and anchor stores and an amazing art community. (The Theatre!) The vision and construction in the downtown area is fantastic! It will be wonderful... we just didn't have the best timing with it all, I'm afraid.
We'd love to express our sincerest thanks to one and all for supporting us during our years here. Please come to our Salina store this Friday, September 7, which is downtown's Friday Night Live between 5-8pm. We are hosting artist and newly crowned Miss Rodeo Kansas Brooke Wallace with her wood burning so let's just make it an even bigger party! We'll be serving drinks, snacks and good cheer. We have much for which to be thankful and would like to share our appreciation with you.
When we close on Friday evening, we will not reopen in Salina. All of the Fair Trade will be relocated to our Lindsborg and Manhattan locations and we'll sell off our beloved furniture. If you are interested in any of our pieces, do let us know. We'll have price tags on these things soon.
w/many thanks and much appreciation - Amy Kay
